How Radical Online Radio Was Born in October 2017

Radical Online Radio – Back in 2017, I started out with Sober for Life Radio “Yes You Can Have Fun Living Life Clean & Sober” and it served as an important part of the process to get to where we are today!

It was the month of October, the 17th day, and I will never forget that day. I had a cheap ASUS laptop and a cheap podcasting microphone, and it sounded like I was talking through a tin can. At the time I thought I sounded like the shit! I often go back and listen to some of those old shows to remind me where it all started.

We started a podcast in the hopes it would save me personally from serious alcohol and drug addiction. It did for a time that it was appointed and then I realized that it was more than a podcast could handle but through all the struggles I never lost the love for radio.

Party Time

I had a bad relapse that led to the understanding that alcohol and drugs were never the problems, to begin with. I had some underlying issues that led to me thinking I had the cure for those issues. “PARTY TIME” I was very wrong, to say the least. I continued to play a variety of music for a couple of years and then decided to get away from what I thought was recovery radio and, in a way, it was it kept me focusing on the fact I cannot do either and be responsible in my life.

Eventually, it led me to the position of the director of some sober living homes in St. Charles Missouri. Something else I found to be not such a clever idea and it caused us to not be as dedicated and focused on the radio program. Some life-changing events led to the end of that career, and I was able to get back into the studio and focus on the station again. Because of how the position went with this sober living company I developed a bad taste in my mouth for the trust I once had in the recovery community and for the first time in my life anger served a great purpose!

Recovery Community

I got completely out of the recovery community and went as far as making another life-changing decision “the best decision I ever made” and changed the name to Radical Online Radio and went from just being a rock n hard rock station to being selfish I guess and continued with that for another year or so and got myself back on track.

Recently we have decided to go back to our mix of genres and gave the radio station a facelift with the help of my good friend and business partner from the very beginning. We had another potential business partner, but he did not seem to want it as much as us and parted ways. We are now building a huge platform and I am better now than ever with the help of my new radio station, fresh look, and more variety than ever!

Radio Business

For all this to happen I had to make some scary changes only because it was new uncharted area for me in the radio business. I am so glad that I decided to take all the risky decisions I did, and we are going to keep rolling just like that! Building a huge platform of music for all of you and myself because music is one of my loves of life.

Medical Cannabis

I want to mention another great tool in making our comeback and I was introduced to medical cannabis, and it has not been the same since. I have noticed that the music sounds better, and I am able to sit still in the studio instead of feeling like I have to continuously get up and move around because of anxiety and OCD you know all those things developed growing up in the 80s with screaming 80’s metal in your ear and sitting to close to the boombox.

Better Than Ever

So now we are back better than ever and taking on more shows every day and an appetizing menu of different genres. We plan to create an atmosphere for everyone, and we are in the process as we speak.

One thing for sure over the years I have come to realize is that our audience is what is important and that is the focus of our brand-new station. I hope everyone enjoys themselves while tuned in and then its mission accomplished.

Well, that is the story of Sober for Life Radio transforming into today’s Radical Online Radio! Like I always say “Lock It in And I Suggest You Turn It Up “We look forward to sharing our friendship with all of you for years to come.
