Five Finger Death Punch and Megadeth in Concert

Listen up all my Radical listeners, followers, and friends! We are going to be talking about two of my favorite bands today! And an exciting event I will be attending!

Five Finger Death Punch and Megadeth in Concert in St. Louis Missouri “Saturday 08 October 2022”.

Here is a little bit about both amazing artists.

Five Finger Death Punch:

Let’s first start with the impact that the band had on our soldiers. And the impact the United States military had on the band. They made their impact by performing for the troops in combat zones. I am mentioning the USO shows specifically in Iraq because I have great respect for the courage that was displayed in what was a very long war.

Ivan Moody, the band’s front man, said:

When we were over in Iraq playing our USO tour, he had a soldier come up to him, and he laid a burnt iPod down on the table. He said wanted me to keep it. I looked at him a bit crazy and the soldier told me one of his good friends left out on a mission and didn’t make it back. When the military found him and his belongings, his iPod was stuck on ‘The Bleeding.’ The last thing he was listening to before he passed was one of our songs. Ivan literally teared up hearing this.”

For me, Five Finger Death Punch helps me with staying clean & sober through their music. Ivan has come forward in public and announced he was also in recovery recently! And this was after I already considered them a ‘kick-ass fucking band’.

After hearing this I looked at them, and Ivan, much differently and appreciated them even more. I now can see how Ivan vents through his music because he writes many of their songs.

One of my favorite songs by them, that Ivan wrote, is “I’m A Little Bit Off Today”. I listen to this every morning to start off my day. Because I never know when I am going to have one of those days. Cranking it up first thing in the morning at 5 am seems to help ward that day off sometimes and reminds me it’s okay to be a little off if I can’t pull myself out of that mood.

Now let’s talk a little bit about another fucking kick-ass band that I grew up with who I will also be seeing at this huge concert event.

Megadeth:

Megadeth has been around a long time and still kicking out kick-ass metal. I saw Megadeth back in the 80s, and I can still remember the highlights of that concert, so that says it was a fantastic show because I was never in the right state of mind back then if you know what I mean! PARTY TIME! It was the 80s for crying out loud and that’s what we did then.

My favorite song by them would have to be Symphony of Destruction without a doubt. I always liked the way Songwriter Dave Mustaine kept us up on the evil ways our government moves sometimes, and he caught a lot of shit from that, but it never forced him to change his views or values.

I remember when Dave played with Metallica and was kicked out of the band in 1983 for not being responsible for his drinking and drug use and missing appointments with recording studios. He was quoted saying to Metallica that they would regret that because they are forcing him to be bigger than they will ever be. He got some help and started his band and well I think he just might have done exactly what he said he would do.

Epic Concert

Oh, and let me explain another reason why this concert is going to be epic. I will be attending the concert with my niece Maryann whom we just helped with relocation for her and her 3 kids. I was surprised with tickets, to this concert, for the kindness we shared with them, by a good friend of the family! They said I deserved to take some time and do something I love to do. Now that’s called kick ass in my book because to be recognized for this feels good. It wasn’t necessary but glad they did because it’s going to be a night to remember.

I no longer choose to drink or do drugs that are detrimental to my well-being, but I have developed ways to have fun without all that bullshit that comes with it. “Yes, You Can Have Fun Living Life Clean & Sober”.

I have a feeling that Dave & Ivan would both agree with me on that. I will have a follow-up on this blog and tell you all about the concert and the good times we will have. Come back soon and check out how kick-ass the concert was!
